The Rev. Susan Bunton Haynes was elected on the eighth ballot to become the 11th Bishop of Southern Virginia.

The Revs. Harmon, Haynes, Heard, and vanBaars were presented to the Diocese by the Nominating and Search Committee. The Revs. Cobb and Harbin were nominated through the Petition Process.
