The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) Board is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year. Rising 10th graders are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to serve as youth leaders within the Diocese of Southern Virginia.

Serving on the EYC Board is both a commitment and a meaningful opportunity to grow in leadership, faith, and community. The Board is made up of up to nine youth members, ideally representing each of the diocese’s nine convocations.

The EYC Board’s mission is to support youth across the diocese in their spiritual growth and understanding of the Episcopal Church. Board members work alongside the Missioner for Youth and College Ministries and adult leaders to help plan and lead diocesan youth events including Fall and Spring Weekends, represent youth voices at Annual Convention, and encourage participation in wider Episcopal gatherings such as the Episcopal Youth Event and Province III events.

In recent years, the Board has also expanded its leadership through Convocation Youth events and looks forward to continuing that work in the coming year.

Students from across the diocese are encouraged to apply. Meetings are held both online via Zoom and in person to make participation accessible regardless of location. In-person gatherings often take place as overnight weekend retreats hosted by parishes throughout the diocese. The Board typically meets monthly during the school year.
