Fresh Start
............................................................
Fresh Start is a resource for clergy and congregations in transition and is a diocesan-led program for clergy who have recently been called to a congregation/new ministry. A call to a new parish/new ministry is an important and fertile learning moment in the life of any ordained person and the congregation/ministry to which they are called. The Fresh Start program seeks to strengthen the relationships among clergy, congregations, and the diocese during this critical period of transition in clergy leadership of the congregation. Therefore, Fresh Start is aimed at all clergy, no matter how long they have been ordained.

Fresh Start is designed to be an intentional, reflective and collegial program. Its benefits can be great. It provides new clergy a vehicle in which to integrate into the diocese and congregation. It allows an opportunity to build relationships with other clergy during this critical time in a new ministry setting. There is opportunity to reflect with colleagues on the complex and sometimes mystifying dynamics being encountered in the new congregation. There is an opportunity for regular, on-going continuing education on the dynamics of transition and the elements of congregational development. There is opportunity to experience the diocesan staff as a trustworthy resource. And, the ultimate beneficiary of the Fresh Start program is the congregation.

The Fresh Start program is overseen by the Canon to the Ordinary: The Rev. Canon Win Lewis.
