Eastern Shore

Accomac, St. James/ Pungoteague, St. George’s

Description: Two historic parishes, thirteen miles apart, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The congregations include both long-term members as well as retirees from other sections of the country. Rapid incorporation of newcomers. A large, historic, well-maintained rectory is included on the grounds of St. James. Generally older congregations with solid, experienced leadership. Prefer traditional worship.

Strong, committed congregation. Contemporary “Cursillo-style” worship. Conservative values and theology. Looking for strong, energetic preaching and scripture-based teaching. Seeking a priest with an extroverted style of ministry. Important that the rector live in the community. The congregation grew during the interim period.

Williamsburg, Bruton Parish

Description: Historic parish located in the restored area of Colonial Williamsburg, near the College of William and Mary.  Strong lay leadership.  Outstanding music, college ministry and adult education programs.  Currently three full-time assisting clergy. Offers a high level of hospitality to visitors and tourists.  Colonial church located 1½  blocks from Parish House.  Aging congregation.  Seeks experienced priest to help us grow and attract young families and to expand our vision and mission.  Strong preaching, pastoral, stewardship and leadership skills are essential.
