STRATEGIC VISION

CE-Net serves the formation and education needs of the parishes of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. In four broad areas of purpose, we have identified specific development needs, which will ensure that we may better fulfill our mission and live out our core values as an organization.

1. Leading

  • Explore new models of Christian Formation and develop models for all ages, not just children and youth
  • Maintain active presence at all judicatories

2. Serving

  • Institute a resource library and the facilities to accommodate it, as well as librarian to manage it
  • Provide professional/employment information
  • Offer relevant and strategic continuing education
  • Offer opportunities for LPCE certification and continued training within the diocese
  • Develop and maintain a skills and needs bank for churches and individuals and collect and maintain a list of sources, publications and resources.

3. Pastoring

  • Facilitate a Buddy system/mentoring program
  • Develop a Pastoral Response system

4. Developing Partnerships

  • Develop local colleague/peer groups at the convocation level
  • Stay alert and connected with one another
  • Continue to develop effective communications among the group with the help of the Diocesan Director of Communications
  • Work collaboratively with Youth Missioner
  • Develop a strategy for identifying and engaging new members (lay and clergy)
