The Parish Bookstore needs your support!

It is up to us to support our diocesan bookstore. The Parish Bookstore is celebrating 42 years of operation and 40 of those years as The Diocesan Bookstore of Southern Virginia. The mission of the bookstore is to serve as a resource for clergy and laity, provide award scholarships to seminarians, and to promote Christian Education in the Diocese.

Because of the current economic uncertainty and increased internet purchasing, sales in the bookstore have declined. We can no longer offer scholarships to seminarians. We can no longer donate 10% of sales made at Cursillo weekends to the Cursillo Community. The Parish Bookstore has reached a critical financial crossroads. Without the support of clergy, churches, and parishioners, the future of the Bookstore is also uncertain. This would be a sad demise for what began as a cart in a closet 42 years ago. This would be an equally sad ending to a wonderful outreach vision. And so, how can you help?

If your church or group is hosting a bazaar this spring or fall, The Parish Bookstore might possibly be a part of it.
